BEFORE NOSTALGIA
Showroom Exhibition
The exhibition explores the moment before memories are formed — the subtle boundary between experience and memory, before time has given events a deeper emotional meaning.
The central idea of the works presented in the exhibition focuses on conveying the sensation of mental images, fragments, and fleeting moments that emerge in our consciousness as recollections.
Jenny Grönholm (b. 1988) is a painter and visual artist living and working in Estonia. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a degree in Graphic Art and holds a Master’s degree in Installation and Sculpture. Grönholm’s work explores themes of memory, time, narrative and repetition, intertwining painting, graphic art and installation.
Manfred Dubov (b. 1986) is an Estonian painter who graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a degree in Painting in 2010. His work focuses on the states of people and places and the connections between personal and collective experience. Dubov’s paintings often draw on personal memories and lived experience, and his works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
